Dakar (Senegal) The Senegalese Constitutional Council Thursday confirmed the results of last 3 June’s legislative polls, with the ruling Sopi Coalition sweeping 131 MP seats out of the 150 Parliament seats, APA has learnt.
The Takku Defaar Senegal party, And defaar Senegal and War wi collected three seats each while the People’s Rally (RP) got 2.
The Convergence Pour Le Renouveau Citoyen (CRC), the Rally of Ecologists (RES), the Reform Movement for Social Development (MRDS), the National Patriotic Union – Tekki, the Social Democratic Party-Jant Bi and the Authentic Socialist Party (PSA) secured one seat each.
Among the fourteen parties and coalitions that contested the polls, only the Patriotic Rally (RP) led by Professor Ely Madiodio Fall failed to glean a parliament seat.
Some 5,004,096 Senegalese registered on the electoral rolls, but only 1,738,675 actually cast their ballots.
There were 18,349 spoilt ballot papers and 1,720,326 valid votes, according to the Constitutional Council.
