In Norwegian Language: Carl Ivar på handle tur på Kiwi

Posted by African Press International on November 5, 2007

Commentary: Political sattire touching on being unable to cater for ones drinking habits due to høy costing of alcohol, thus resorting to theft in alcohol selling shops in order to meet the need - to thirst-quenching!

UN envoy in DR Congo to assess humanitarian situation

Posted by African Press International on November 5, 2007

Kinshasa (DR Congo) The United Nations assistant secretary-general in charge of political affairs, Haile Menkerios, is in Kinshasa with a special message from Ban Ki-Moon promising peace-building assistance and security to DR Congo and its neighbouring countries.

Addressing reporters on Saturday at the end of his talks with Congolese foreign affairs minister Mbusa Nyamwisi, Menkerios said he was also in the country to assess the humanitarian situation on the ground.

He admitted the existence of efforts between DRC and Rwanda to curb insecurity caused by the armed groups that undermine the peace and insecurity in the Great Lakes region.

The UN mission in RDC is the world’s largest peace keeping operation with 17,600 soldiers of which 80 percent are presently deployed in east of the country.

Moroccans demonstrate against visit of Spanish King to Ceuta, Mellila

Posted by African Press International on November 5, 2007

Rabat (Morocco) moroccospain.jpgThousands of inhabitants of Tetouan (north of Morocco) demonstrated Sunday evening in front of the Spanish consulate to protest against the visit of King Juan Carlos to the two cities of Ceuta and Mellila, claimed by Morocco but under Spanish authority, APA noted.

The demonstrators, who were called initially for a sit-in, gathered in front of the Spanish consulate to denounce the visit of the Spanish King on Monday and Tuesday to the two cities located at the northern borders of the North African kingdom.

The demonstrators decried the visit, which Rabat describes as “regrettable”, to “both cities” occupied by Spain since 1497.

Slogans were chanted for hours, calling the visit an “attempt to sanction the accomplished fact”, an “offence to the feelings of Moroccans”, and a “provocative gesture”.

The Moroccan human rights association (AMDH) and the national commission for the liberation of Ceuta and Mellila organised the demonstration, marked by a strong presence of representatives of political parties and human rights associations.

Another demonstration is slated for Monday starting from the Moulay El-Mahdi historical place in Tetouan to the Ceuta border post, where a sit-in will be organised concomitantly with the visit of the Spanish King.

Tetouan, located at about 30 km from Ceuta, symbolises Moroccan resistance against the Spanish colonisers in northern Morocco between 1912 and 1956.

Also, Moroccan MPs intend to organise another sit-in on Monday in front of the Spanish embassy in Rabat.

At late afternoon, the lower house of the Moroccan Parliament will hold a plenary meeting on this visit which has raised a political and popular outcry in the country since last Thursday.

The Moroccan government had rejected and disapproved of this visit, the first to these two cities by the Spanish king since his accession to the throne in 1975.

As a protest, King Mohammed VI of Morocco recalled his ambassador to Madrid for an undetermined period.

In 1987, Morocco had suggested the setting up of a dialogue committee with Spain to find a solution to this “old decolonisation case”.

According to Rabat, these two cities “are part and parcel of the territory of the Moroccan Kingdom and their return to the motherland will be done through direct negotiations with neighbouring Spain”.

AU, UN agree to enhance partnership in various sectors

Posted by African Press International on November 5, 2007

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) The African Union and the United Nations on Monday agreed to enhance their partnership in various sectors including peace and security in Africa.

The two agencies agreed to strengthen their relations in NEPAD, peace-building and post conflict reconstruction in post-conflict countries, which demand huge investments to be made.

“The UN system is already supporting, in numerous ways, from advocacy and institutional support to practical assistance, the implementation of specific programmes and projects. Beyond NEPAD, the UN is working to strengthen its partnership with the AU itself,” said UN Deputy Secretary-General Asha-Rose Migiro.

“It reflects our joint commitment to further solidify the already productive partnership between the two organizations. The UN is actively involved in supporting the establishment of an AU early warning system, a crisis center, and the African standby brigade,” she said.

“We must use all possible resources to support Africa’s development,” Migiro said.

The UN support for the AU also addresses development issues key to the achievement of the millennium development goals.

Last year, the AU and UN signed a declaration on “Enhancing AU-UN Cooperation” as a framework for the capacity-building programme.

Morocco recalls ambassador in Spain for consultation

Posted by African Press International on November 5, 2007

Rabat (Morocco) The Moroccan ambassador to Spain was recalled for consultations on Friday on the decision of King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan Foreign ministry has announced.

According to the ministry, the decision follows the announcement of the official visit by King Juan Carlos of Spain to the Spanish-held cities of Ceuta and Mellila which the Moroccan kingdom is claiming.

Describing this visit “as regrettable”, the Moroccan government on Thursday rejected and disapproved of it which the Spanish King is planning to make on Monday and Tuesday to Ceuta et Mellila at the northern border of Morocco.

Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi said he was “surprised” by this visit to the “despoilt cities’, the first one since the Spanish King came to office in 1975.

El Fassi strongly expressed his “deep regret and rejection of this initiative which may influence the existing privileged relations between the two brotherly countries and hopes that such measures be dropped”.

The Moroccan government stressed that these two cities “are part and parcel of the Moroccan territory and will return to the motherland through direct negotiations with neighbouring Spain”.

Morocco is continuously claiming its sovereignty over these two cities colonised by Spain in 1497.

Earlier in 1987, Rabat had offered to set up a consultation committee to find a solution to this “old decolonisation file” , diplomatic sources said in the Moroccan capital.

Child abduction case does not affect Chad/France relations, says President Deby

Posted by African Press International on November 5, 2007

N’djamena (Chad) The NGO Zoe’s Arch child abduction case does in no way affect the relations between my country and France, Chadian president Idriss Deby Itno said Sunday in N’djamena during a joint press conference with his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy.

“Children Rescue” or “Zoe’s Arch” is the only one responsible for this situation,” said the Chadian head of state who thanked the magistrates for “a job well done without any pressure.”

The two heads of state held an hour-long discussion on the attempted abduction of 103 children by the French NGO in Abeche, eastern Chad.

“The visit of president Sarkozy is a friendly gesture for the Chadian people and families distressed by this abduction case,” President Deby explained.

For his part, the French president was delighted by the release of the journalists and the Spanish air-hostesses held within the framework of this abduction case.

He reiterated the official disapproval of France of this act. “We share the pain with Chadian families,” Sarkozy asserted.

He noted that France will continue to rely on Chadian justice for the trial of the members of the NGO whose “act is against any legal procedure”.

Nicolas Sarkozy and his host pointed out that the foiled abduction case has nothing to do with the deployment of the European forces to eastern Chad to improve security for the displaced people, the refugees and the humanitarian agents.

The French president left N’djamena for Paris on Sunday at 4pm.

The French presidential plane took along the three French journalists and the four Spanish air-hostesses released by the Chadian judiciary.

Nicolas Sarkozy promised to return to Chad next February, this time for an official visit.

Sweden: Kenyan community in Stockholm exercise cold war against one another

Posted by African Press International on November 5, 2007

Judging from the stories below, Kenyans in Sweden seem to have a cold war antena vibrating. While it is expected of them to unite and prosper by helping one another, they seem to love to work on one another and exploit one another’s downfall, or initiate hate when others progress either in family life or business. Was Nonini show a conspiracy to defraud Wakenya?

nonini poster nonini leaflets at jamhuri curtain raiser

The much publicized Nonini show at ”Plattan” in Vällingby that had been organized by the newly formed ”Leta Mleto Entertainment” was a major disappointment to Kenyans and enthusiasts who paid 200 kr to watch the Artist perform live.

There were two levels of lamentable failures that demoralized Nonini’s fans and undermined the ability of wannabe Kenyan promoters to handle the intricate details of a live show featuring a leading Kenyan Artist of Nonini’s calibre.

According to publicity that continued for a whole month, Nonini was supposed to start performing at 22 hrs. By 2.30 hrs, Nonini was still nowhere to be seen as more than 100 revellers heavily pregnant with expectation waited impatiently for their hero to jump on stage and deliver. There was no official explanation for the delay and fun lovers had to make do with disco music blaring from the speakers.

Kenyans who were working on Sunday and who had counted on leaving the hall by midnight went home without experiencing Nonini on stage because their jobs were more important.

When KSB arrived at the scene to begin covering the event, Evans Kamau, a key figure in the Leta Mleto bandwagon, came to me and warned that “there should be nothing in the Internet” about the show – Holy smoke!

The ban on KSB reflected the general apathy of the organizers on the concept of “Freedom of Information” when it comes to public functions in Sweden and it was easy to notice that the organizing crew badly needed a crash-program on “The Media, The Public And The Right To Know”.

The Nonini show was not an exclusive private event where attendance was by “invitation only”. Secondly, it was not taking place at a private venue where the “Management reserved the right of admission”. The public was paying a whooping 200 kr to experience a leading Kenyan Artist who was performing live at a public venue hired by the organizers. The venue was not hired for a “private” function but for a “public” event promoted through public means.

It was not the first show of its kind taking place in Stockholm. In the past, Artists like the late Lucky Dubbe, Brittney Spears, Israel Vibrations, Ziggy Marley, Mr. Nice, 50 Cents, Nazizi and a host of others have performed in Stockholm and the rules have been very clear. Individuals can take pictures and shoot videos with the only restriction being that any documentation cannot be sold or used for any commercial purposes without express permission of the Artist or the promoters.

If the event was taking place at a Restaurant or some Hotel in town, the ban on KSB could have been legitimate because any documentation at such venues in Sweden needed some kind of agreement since these kind of venues are not exclusively public places.

“ROBBERY WITHOUT VIOLENCE”
Because of its illegal nature, I simply ignored the ban and decided to take pictures as soon as the “curtain raiser” got on stage as Nonini cooled down backstage. They are the only pictures I took. It is at this point that one of the contacts of the organizers came along and requested for a discussion. Since there was a lot of noise in the hall from booming music and since KSB is always open to discussions especially on disputes, we walked out of the hall after which polemics about KSB coverage of the event went back and fourth.

As we were about 20 minutes into discussion, two Kenyans, Milton and Lillian burst out of the hall to inform us that the Nonini show amounted to  “Robbery without violence”. When I enquired, they said that Nonini show was over after only 30 minutes and that they would never return to any Kenyan live show because it was all conmanship. “First, he keeps us waiting until 3 in the morning then he comes and performs for 30 minutes. This is a scandal”, Lillian said.

“The only thing I appreciate is that I have met Kenyans”, Milton said philosophically before the rather sophisticated couple walked away in protest. Our discussion about “Media coverage” ended there as I went back into the hall to find out Ukweli Wa Mambo.

Back in the hall, accusations flowed freely as Kenyan after Kenyan attacked the organizers for having fooled them into paying 200 kr for a 30 minutes show. In Stockholm, live shows where you part with 200 kr normally roll for an average of 3-4 hours with a minimum of 2 hrs being the bottom line. The expectation was that Nonini would perform for at least two hours with occasional breaks spread over the night. To add salt to injury, fans had to wait up to 3.00 hrs (early morning) before they could see Nonini.

According to Manto, a Kenyan, “it is better to attend the Sound of Blackness discos at Norsborg” because at the end of the action, “You feel satisfied”.

When Sound of Blackness brought in DJ Otieno from the United States this Summer, there were no complaints and some revellers felt guilty that the 60 kr they paid for the event was “too little” compared to the treat, given that Otieno had been brought in from the United States.

Likewise, there were no complaints when Sound of Blackness organized this year’s Grand Nymama Choma and charged 100 kr for meat and entrance to disco hall because Wakenya felt that they got their money’s worth. The dominant view at the Nonini show was that it was a “major fraud” where individuals around Leta Mleto might have conspired to use Nonini’s big name to try and rake in quick bucks using Wakenya as objects of wanton exploitation. This is unacceptable.

WHY THE SHOW WAS DELAYED UNTIL 3.00 HRS
According to a survey conducted at the venue, there was no question that Nonini was very good during the 30 minutes he performed. There was unanimity that the Artist should take no responsibility whatsoever for both the disappointment and the massive anger that followed it because revellers who watched him said that he delivered “to satisfaction” during his short time on stage with a few Kenyan ladies grumbling that they had banked on wriggling to “Manzi wa Nairobi”, a hit which the Rapper never performed.

The main problem was that the 30 minutes was not commensurate with the 200 kr Kenyans paid and this is why many revellers felt cheated while others contemplated taking action to get their money back. Unfortunately, the organizers were so smart that they gave no receipts for payments so you couldn’t prove that you had paid.

The question which has to be posed is whether Nonini was paid to perform for 30 minutes as Wakenya were hyped by Leta Mleto that it would be a “Show to remember!” Did Nonini travel all the way from Kenya to perform for 30 minutes at a cost of 200 kr per head or is it Nonini who has become one of the most expensive artists in the world?

It was not until KISS agents were assigned to investigate the reasons behind the media ban and the short performance that the truth of the matter began to emerge.

According to investigations, Nonini was diverted by Leta Mleto to Stockholm while on another undisclosed assignment. The ban on KSB was based on the fear that if publicity about his performance reached the Internet, information about Leta Mleto activities would reach the Swedish authorities and create problems because Leta Mleto was charging 200kr under an arrangement which did not include payment of taxes.

This is the same fear that led to the omission of the figure “200 kr” on the main advertisement leaf-lets that the new group was using to promote the show. Instead of writing “200 kr”, they used the words “mia mbili” (two hundred) so that a non Swahili speaker could not notice the fee immediately.

At first, Leta Mleto had announced that the Nonini show would take place at a pub in Sätra. However, serious disagreements arose on the question of “profit sharing” and other logistics forcing the group to change venue. Because he had to pay his taxes, the pub owner reportedly wanted a share of the gate collection while he insisted that he would pocket all money from drinks, a deal that was not so attractive to Leta Mleto.

The decision to delay the show until 3.00 in the morning was based on the strategy that if the performance started at 22 hrs as had been announced, it would be over in the next half an hour and anybody who came to the venue after Nonini had performed would not accept to pay 200 kr just to dance at the disco. In such a scenario, the profits Leta Mleto had projected for the show would not be realized.

Leta Mleto knew in advance that Nonini would be performing for half an hour but they did not tell anybody about this because such a disclosure could have sold the whole strategy because the truth of the matter is that very few Kenyans will part with 200 kr to watch an Artist perform for just 30 minutes. The whole arrangement was therefore a well-knit conspiracy by Leta Mleto to defraud Kenyans out of their hard earned money and this is a big shame. While the disco session was very successful, the live segment of the treat was a fiasco which should not be allowed to repeat itself in the future.

BANNING KSB WAS BASED ON ILLUSIONS
There are several groups (of the Leta Mleto type) in Sweden which routinely promote Artists from their countries with live shows. “Salem” an Ethiopian dominated group, is one of the most successful in the field and Leta Mleto could as well get there. In fact, there are groups that even manage to hook sponsorships for such events but the bottom line in Sweden is that you have to play the cards “above the table” because you will never get away with several live shows at 200 kr per head without being caught by the Tax authorities.

The ban on KSB at the show was based on the illusion that Leta Mleto could operate in the underground by playing hide and seek games with authorities. In the minds of Leta Mleto wannabes, keeping KSB out of the event would eliminate the element of exposure and reduce the risk of detection, a dangerous premise upon which to base a business venture in this country called Sweden which, nevertheless, is a “Police State”.

According to Mr. Kamau who is behind Leta Mleto, it was Nonini who requested the ban on KSB “because he had seen the blog”. Be that as it may, it was the responsibility of Leta Mleto to educate the Artist on the basic principles of freedom of Information in Sweden because the Artist was not performing in Kenya where you can get away with anything.

Leta Mleto could have informed the artist that the context and venue of the show was “public” and that in this country, even the police cannot stop electronic documentation of a public event. Banning KSB from covering public Kenyan functions is counter productive while such a move only attracts negative publicity as we fight back to defend the right to freedom of Information.

The only reason why KSB did not seek help from authorities to assist interpret the law in the face of a serious violation is because the Party could have come to an abrupt end and we were not going to take responsibility for messing up a Kenyan Party.

There are viable and real opportunities of promoting Kenyan Artists in Sweden. At the same time Kenyans paying 200 kr should get their money’s worth so that they don’t feel fleeced by extortionists posing as promoters.

The Kenyan Embassy in Stockholm failed to fool Swedish authorities by operating Kamukunji as an illegal pub which was not accountable. Kamukunji was closed down in November 1995 in a major scandal that was published in the Swedish press. Kenyans need to promote and support Kenyan groups involved in different ventures. However, these groups should also operate within the law and avoid violating basic rights and freedoms of Kenyans, the general public and various Media Houses like KSB.

Arrested Kenyan is HIV positive

A Kenyan who was arrested by Swedish police and who was reported to have been jailed is HIV positive. A Swedish official at Solna court clarified on Friday that the Kenyan has not yet been sent to jail but that his case is still going through the Swedish court system.

The Kenyan has been charged with rape and violating the freedom of his ex Swedish woman with whom he had one child. He was charged with violating the woman’s freedom from 1st July 2006 to 28th September 2007, rape on 28th September 2007 while he was also charged with “an attempt to mishandle” the woman on 28th September 2007 at Hässelby in Stockholm city.

The Kenyan is being held in solitary confinement with zero contacts because, according to the Swedish authorities, he might “try to contact the complainant”.

The Kenyan has also been charged with the offence of having several unprotected sexual intercourse with his former woman despite his knowledge that he was HIV positive soon after he returned from a trip to Kenya last year.

The Prosecution noted that in 2001, the Kenyan’s name was entered into the Swedish police register of criminals because of “violent resistance” to arrest and “pocession of a knife at a public place”.

Further, the Kenyan’s name is in Police register for having mishandled his former Swedish woman in 2005. Following the crime, the Kenyan was arrested, tried, found guilty and jailed for the offence.

The woman he was accused of having mishandled is the mother of his first born child. The woman who has currently accused him is the mother of his second child.

According to KSB investigations, the Kenyan was charged on 15th October and on the following day, he was picked up by police from his work place after which he was taken to Court last Friday the 19th October.

The case will come up again on November 2nd 2007. In the meantime, the Court ruled that the Kenyan will continue to remain in custody.

Sweden: Tension within the Kenyan community in Stockholm as potrayed in the story below – (API/APN)

Posted by African Press International on November 5, 2007

Arrested HIV positive Kenyan and the truth of the matter.

After the story about a Kenyan currently in police custody was published at KSB, there was one serious response by a Kenyan who was brave enough to put his real name behind his opinion and whom we sincerely believe deserves a response. His name is Vincent Odede aka Vinni. We don’t respond to people who attack us anonymously using foul language because we believe in decency, open debate and respect. Vincent’s opinion was forwarded to KSB via email by a KSB supporter who believes that he raised pertinent issues.

Writing in his capacity as a “friend” of the arrested Kenyan, Vincent doubted the validity of the facts we presented and wrote: “…this information must have come either, from my friend’s wife or someone very close to her because of the specification of the dates…”. Most importantly, Vincent wrote:

“On a more serious issue, i read in one of our top blogs (KSB) today that my friend who was arrested last week is HIV positive, had raped his wife and has done time in the swedish *nyumba za wazee*(Jail), first of all, i do not know if he is HIV positive or not plus i ain’t no doctor, secondly all that information would be too much to get from a swedish tjänsteman for those of us who know anything about how the swedish systems work, ‘tystnad’s plikt’, in short the authorities cannot divulge information to you even if it is in enlightening you on your right hand from your left one, but then again i’m not a journalist how can i know if they get special treatment.

The information was obtained from the file of the Prosecutor, Eva Winzell in a document which reads: “(Name of accused) has on several occasions between March 2007 and 28th September 2007 had unprotected sex with the complainant, his former co-habitant and mother of their child, with the knowledge that he was HIV positive after a trip to Kenya”.

The document is dated 19th October 2007 and is signed by Andreas König, a Court clerk. The document goes on to say that the complainant has been tested but that the test result is not yet out.

Vincent also wanted to know where we obtained information about the dates, that the Kenyan had allegedly raped his wife and that he had done time in jail.

According to documents on file: “(Name of accused) is, among others, suspected of serious curtailing of a woman’s freedom between 1st July 2006 and 28th September, rape on 28th September 2007 and attempt to serious assault between March 2006 to 28th September 2006 at Hässelby”.

On the question of doing jail: “(Name of accused) has been in belastingregistret (police register): 2001 violent resistance (to arrest) and pocession of a knife at a public place at the same time sentenced for miss-handling in 2005. The victim was, in this case, his former co-habitant/Mother of his eldest son”.

If there is something else that was reported at KSB which is not covered here then we invite Vincent to throw a new challenge.

If you know where to look, the information above is not classified as Vincent thinks and when it comes to publication, it is illegal and criminal to publish the name of the accused, not the information. Did we publish the name of the accused?

The Swedish mainstream media carries criminal personal histories of suspects almost on a daily basis, the latest being a guard who brutalized someone at Cafe Opera and who has been reported to police 15 times in the past. HIV status of a Kenyan currently serving jail term were splashed in the media liberally. Where was the likes of Odede to talk about the media “tarnishing” the Kenyan’s name? Only KSB protested that he did not deserve the title of “HIV MAN” which the media had given him.

IS VINCENT PROVIDING PROSECUTUION WITH EVIDENCE?
Instead of using the information to look into how the Kenyan can be helped, the likes of Vincent and his fire-breathing cohorts are busy, attacking the messenger who is accused of “talking to friends” of the Kenyan’s ex then rushing to the blog. We have not done this. Is it KSB that is fabricating stories or is it our critics who are uninformed in this case?

While KSB is under attack by the unenlightened, information about the “HIV status” of the Kenyan is being used in the Court system to try and send him to jail because, from our view, pinning the Kenyan down on other charges might be difficult due to lack of evidence. One Kenyan has already gone to jail on HIV charges because two charges of rape could not stand.

Where were the Odedes when we were shouting at the top of our voices, trying to argue that the Swedish justice system is unfair? A Blog site, which hosted Odedes letter quoted above, was the first to name the Kenyan who is now serving a three year jail term. When we pointed out that this was illegal, the blog owner quickly pulled the story down but not before the Kenyan’s brother took note. Who is spoiling whose name?

Vincent is doing a great disservice to his friend because he is unconsciously helping in his identification by providing details which are not in court documents. After his mail, Kenyans simply had to apply the “elimination theory” of Vincent’s friend to begin rounding up the identity of this Kenyan. Is this the way to go?

While adding other details, he wrote: “The second wife helped this guy settle a serious bill (I am talking big money) that he incurred earlier on, less than two months ago and later claimed that this guy was having extra curricular (extra-marital??) activities with another girl elsewhere…”.

By giving this kind of detail which is totally unrelated to the charges, Vincent is portraying his friend as an exploitative and heartless parasite who exploited an innocent Swedish woman and mother of his little child to clear his heavy debts (big money?) then dumped her. With the stereotypical and negative mentality of the establishment towards Africans, is Vincent aware that he is providing more evidence that could be used against his friend in Court and strengthening the case of the complainant?

What the Prosecution could do if they think that this is good material is to interrogate Vincent along the lines he mentioned then convert the interview into evidence to portray the Kenyan as a thankless animal who needs to go to jail because even after being rescued by the kind Swedish woman, he went back to try and assault her, raped her and even risked infecting her with HIV.

KILLING OSEWE WILL NOT KILL THE TRUTH
Information is power. When the Kenyan returned from Kenya around October last year, we have information that he fell very sick then went to hospital. The Swedish Doctors then decided to test him for HIV among other tropical diseases like malaria and what have you. He later tested positive before he split with his ex in January.

The likes of Vincent should not be fighting KSB, the only source of credible information at critical points in time. They should be asking how the Kenyan could have returned from Kenya to test HIV positive upon his arrival from Kenya because HIV is known to have an incubation period of as long as six months. We are not saying that he might not have contracted the virus during his Kenyan trip but asking a hypothetical question.

If the Kenyan had taken up another lady as Vincent says, does he understand why some of our ladies are in psychological crisis following news about the HIV connection which supposedly, was a KSB creation. Has this lady tested herself? Assuming that he contracted the virus before leaving for Kenya (so far, there is no shred of evidence to suggest that he contracted the virus in our dear country Kenya), who gave it to him before he left? Is it important for ladies who came into contact with him before and after he came from Kenya that he is positive?

Have these ladies been sleeping with other contacts and is it possible that there is “a ring of HIV transmission” that is still unknown? Up to what level could these transmissions go and what should Kenyans do? These are the issues the community should be addressing, not attacking the Messenger.

There is a “life and death” element on the whole issue which might run into several chains and the faster Kenyans accepted and appreciated the information, the faster potential victims will be able to move to put a break to what may turn out to be a chain of “silent infections” that may continue for ever. Vincent should know what I am talking about because he is in a position to “know many links down the line”.

KSB is taking the advantage of responding to Vincent while at the same time announcing that the “HIV connection” is not the product of Osewe’s fertile imagination because real ladies have called KSB to inquire the validity of the report so that they can decide on what to do next. Others have thanked KSB for giving them something to think about.

I am not Jesus Christ. But is it a surprise that Jesus Christ was crucified by the very same people he came to save? Stung by a factual report at KSB, Mr. Clay Onyango has even bayed for my blood and pondered my physical elimination from the surface of the earth instead of addressing the issues that were raised. Will killing Osewe also kill the truth that is known to set men and women free?

“The truth never dies” and those who have chosen to speak it will continue to do so in every generation long after Osewe is gone. Where is the evidence that the KSB story was fabricated? Back to Vinni and company.

Hearing of Kenyan’s case pushed forward:

The case of a Kenyan national facing charges of rape, taking away the freedom of a Swedish woman and having unprotected sex with the woman will not be heard on Friday 2nd October as had been planned because the charge sheet is not yet ready.

A Court official at Solna told KSB that the mentioning of the case has been pushed to 16th November, time when the Kenyan will continue to remain in custody. KSB has been in touch with the Court since the blog site confirmed rumours that the Kenyan was being held in custody.

During the Summer, a Kenyan national was jailed for three years for allegedly infecting a Swedish woman with HIV although he was found “Not guilty” of raping two other Swedish women.

Kenyan Travel Agent Accused of Defrauding client 3.000 Kr

Mrs Lillian Olin, a Kenyan national, has claimed that Mr. Clay Onyango, a Kenyan Travel Agent based at Odenplan in Stockholm, has defrauded her of 3.000 kr after issuing a defective ticket to her husband causing them to get stranded in Kenya during a holiday trip.

The Agent gave them a ticket and informed them that the ticket was valid for two months. When their holiday was over, they went to KLM to confirm the ticket only to be told that the ticket was valid for only eight days and that it had expired. “I was very disappointed because all my travel plans were messed up”, she said.

They were told that to extend the ticket, they needed to pay an extra 3.000 kr. They didn’t have money so Olin contacted her daughter in Stockholm who sent her cash so that she could sort out the bill because Clay refused to take responsibility. It took the couple a whole week to sort out the problem and travel back to Sweden.

When she returned to Sweden, she contacted Clay for a refund of her 3000 kr but the agent refused to pay. She went to his office but could not trace him. Her phone calls also went unanswered. Not knowing what to do, she wrote a letter to Clay which has never been replied.

She said that she was disappointed because she bought the ticket from Clay as a way of promoting Kenyan businessmen.

When contacted for comment, Clay admitted that it is true that the ticket had a problem but added that a new one was fixed.

“Yes. There was a mistake with the issuing Agent and we fixed a new ticket. The date was wrong”, he said.

Clay said that the amount he owes Olin is 3.000 Kenyan shillings (300 kr) and not 3.000 kr. He said that Olin was claiming for transport from some place somewhere in Kenya and phone bills.

“The compensation should be 3.000 shillings and I told her to write a claim. I have not received any. Tell her to get in touch with the receipts”, he said. He added that it was not true that he had disappeared.

Olin has countered that if the amount was 300 kr, that should be a small amount which a responsible Agent should have been able to pay to avoid negative talk about his Agency after admitting a mistake. She said that she could not have been wasting a lot of time chasing 300 kr and warned Kenyans to be careful.
