Tragedy: A former Kenya District Commissioner commits suicide

A former district commissioner has committed suicide. 70-year-old Wilson Wambugu Ndegwa is believed to have taken his life after milking his cows with his nephew who discovered the body.
The nephew, Ndegwa Kanyi, recorded a statement with the police over the incident and investigations are underway. Grief stricken villagers streamed to the deceased’s homestead upon hearing the news of the incident.
The brother to the deceased, Benson Ndegwa, described the former DC, a father of four, as a hardworking farmer.
The deceased served the government in various positions having risen from a primary school teacher to senior secretary in the ministry of education before his retirement in 1994.
