NYANZA COUNCIL OF CHURCH LEADERS
WE Church Leaders in Nyanza Region consisting of 200 Denominations do hereby fully support House Speaker Kenneth Marende’s yesterday’s ruling on the four Nominees of Constitutional offices.
The Kenyan people of all walks of life have been waiting eagerly on the said ruling. This ruling is a true victory to all Kenyans and this will now enable the two Principals President Mwai Kibaki and Hon. Prime Minister Raila Odinga to go back and consult widely over the issue as in the spirit of the National Accord.
We are now calling upon all politicians regardless of their political parties to unite so as to help in the easy implementation of the new
On the issue of those MPs who are now opposed to the Speaker’s ruling on the Nominees, we are saying they are not realistic because initially they supported the speaker when he directed that the controversial list of the Nominees be taken to the two Parliamentary Committees for discussion before taken back to the House for the ruling.
Such MPs are going contrary to the decision made by the two Principals where they agreed to support the outcome of the two Parliamentary Committees regarding the issue.
Let those MPs who are opposed to the Speaker’s ruling on the Nominees not to divide Kenyans along tribal lines for their Political gains. What the Country needs is Peace and Stability.
We want to have a Country where any Community feels part and parcel of it.
We are further asking Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon. William Ruto to desist from confusing Kenyans by using the name of the Prime Minister in a blame game.
