The rose speaks of love silently, in a language known only to the heart.

Posted by African Press International on July 21, 2011

They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am [he]. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault [at all].
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all [men] through him might believe.
Now a certain [man] was sick, [named] Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
He saith unto him the third time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
The same was in the beginning with God.
These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God

Norway: Additional NOK 30 million to crisis in Horn of Africa

Posted by African Press International on July 21, 2011

”The drought in the Horn of Africa is critical and gives cause for serious concern. The extent of the crisis will be worse than first assumed. We have therefore decided to increase Norway’s contribution by NOK 30 million, bringing the total up to NOK 263 million. We will do our part, but the whole international community must respond rapidly in order to prevent this crisis becoming even worse,” said Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

The flows of people fleeing the drought in Somalia are increasing. Every day, thousands more arrive at the refugee camps in Ethiopia and Kenya. The situation in Somalia is steadily getting worse and many people are also fleeing to the capital, Mogadishu.

Minister of the Environment and International Development Erik Solheim commented, “This is the most serious food crisis in the world at this time. We were warned that it would happen. It is affecting people who have been hit by two disasters at once: conflict and drought. Right now it is important to save lives. But we must not forget that climate change exacerbates disasters such as this.”

The UN reported earlier that more than 10 million people in the Horn of Africa are in need of food. The figures presented by the UN in recent days show that the crisis is even more extensive, and famine is reported in certain areas. The situation is particularly serious in southern Somalia.

“It is important that the international community provides emergency relief. Together with its partners, Norway will do what it can to help to relive those who are suffering in the Horn of Africa. We are in continuous contact with the authorities in the affected countries, but at the same time, the conflict in Somalia is making relief efforts more difficult,” said Mr Støre.

The new contribution of NOK 30 million is in addition to the nearly NOK 233 million that was allocated previously. This brings Norway’s total contribution up to NOK 263 million. Most of the additional funding will be transferred to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to support its efforts to protect refugees. Earlier this year, Norway provided around NOK 200 million to the main humanitarian actors in the Horn of Actor, including a contribution to the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF).

Kenyans committed to the cause against corruption: Police impunity prompted riots in the Kilimani police cells today

Posted by African Press International on July 21, 2011

To the Editor:

Riots broke out a short moment ago in the Kilimani Police Station cells where police were beating activists who expressed disgruntlement at being held at the police station yet the High Court has ordered immediate release. For a second time, the officer commanding the station has refused to accept court papers from the High Court, now insisting that he is waiting “for orders from above”.

Yesterday, the officer commanding the station also refused to accept High Court papers ordering the production of the activists in court this morning. The Magistrate’s court at Milimani had earlier yesterday ordered that the protestors be held, without the option of cash bond or bail, at Kilimani Police Station until Monday 25th July, 2011 pending identification procedures. The group through their lawyers moved to the High Court to protest the violation of their constitutional rights. The High Court yesterday afternoon ordered that the protestors be produced in court this morning which failed to materialize after the station boss refused to accept service from a court process-server last evening.

The High Court has today ordered the immediate release of the group that had been arrested earlier this week while attempting to petition the President over the missing Free Primary Education funds.

Following the short skirmishes, we are now being taken to court. It is not yet clear which, but we suspect the High Court at Milimani.

3.7 Mln Somalis in Crisis: Famine Declared in Somalia

Posted by African Press International on July 21, 2011

Bonn, 20 July 2011. The United Nations has declared that famine exists in
two regions of southern Somalia: southern Bakool and Lower Shabelle -
according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs
for Somalia.

The declaration came after a High-Level Task Force on the Global Food
Security (HLTF) met at the UN Headquarters in New York on 13 July. The
meeting was called by the Secretary General to review the deteriorating
situation in the Horn of Africa, and to consider options for its overall
global strategy.

Earlier yesterday, while speaking at the Annual Korea Society dinner in
New York, Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon remarked, “More than 11 million
people are affected by the long spell of drought and lack of food – 11
million – in just four countries: Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, and Kenya.
And we are their best and often only hope”. (
http://www.un.org/apps/sg/sgstats.asp?nid=5423)

“Droughts do not happen overnight,” says Luc Gnacadja, the Executive
Secretary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). “The
UNCCD joins the calls on the international community to respond urgently
to this crisis. At the same time, we stress the need for effective long
term solutions to the root causes of famine in drought prone regions, such
as through the implementation of drought management systems and measures
to stop desertification, which means land degradation in drylands.”

Nearly half of the Somali population of close to 3.7 million is facing a
humanitarian crisis and is in urgent need of assistance. The World Food
Programme, WHO, and UNICEF have launched emergency operations.

Kenyans committed to the cause against corruption apologise for the behaviour of Mr. Omtatah (one of their own) during a court session.

Posted by African Press International on July 21, 2011

To the Editor:

Following the unfortunate remarks made by Mr Omtatah to Honorable Magistrate J. Macharia at Milimani Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Mr Omtatah was this morning separately charged at Kibera Law Courts for disrespecting the court and using abusive language, after the Magistrate filed a complaint against him. He has been released on a K.Shs. 50,000/= cash bond pending the hearing of the case.

I wish to take this opportunity to apologise on behalf of the protestors for the unfortunate error of judgement on Omtata’s side in the remarks that he made, which did not and do not reflect the views of the entire group. We wish to go on record to clarify that we do respect the courts and are law-abiding citizens, committed to the rule of law and to justice.

We are grateful for all the support we continue to receive and hope that the unfortunate incident will not take away from the spirit of the cause to which we are committed – anti-corruption and accountability.

We are currently still held at Kilimani Police Station, having submitted to identification procedures in line with the High Court’s directive earlier today, and waiting to appear before the court to take pleas and subsequently be granted audience before the High Court.

Kenyans committed to the cause against corruption on FPE funds scam protest to be heard by the High court

Posted by African Press International on July 21, 2011

By George Nyongesa, Kenya

The anti-corruption protestors have this morning been directed by the High Court to submit to the Magistrate’s court for purposes of taking a plea on the charges leveled against them, of allegedly creating a disturbance at State House.

The High Court’s order of yesterday that the protestors be produced in court this morning was not carried out as the officer commanding the station refused to accept service of the court papers yesterday when the process-server came calling at the police station.

The protestors who have been under tight security since last evening, have been undergoing the identification procedures at Kilimani Police Station the later part of the morning and will thereafter proceed to Milimani Courts to the Magistrate’s court.

Once the pleas have been taken at the Magistrate’s court, the High Court will listen to the application made by the protestors in relation to the infringement of their constitutional rights including the right to petition public authorities.

ICC’s Ocampo wants Muthaura, Uhuru, Ali and Kosgey sacked, while Raila’s ODM party wants Ruto axed

Posted by African Press International on July 21, 2011

By API

It is rough politics in Kenya in practice before 2012 general elections. Now the ICC prosecutor Ocampo wants President Kibaki to sack his loyal advisors, while at the same time Raila Odinga’s party ODM wants to throw out William Ruto out of the party because as they say, he has become a headache to the party.

The ICC chief prosecutor wants the sacking of Finance minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Public Service head Francis Muthaura, suspended Industrialisation minister Henry Kosgey and Postmaster-General Hussein Ali. These four are among the six accused by the prosecutor of murder and rape in connection with post-election violence following the 2007 elections in Kenya. Others are William Ruto and Radio broadcaster Mr Sang.

For one, Ocampo has no powers to decide who should be sacked or not in any country. His job as ICC prosecutor is to find evidence of wrong doing on those who are to appear before ICC and to exercise his powers as a prosecutor.

Why has he not demanded the resignation of President Al Bashir who has been indicted by ICC? Ocampo is now abusing the hospitality the Kenyan leadership has accorded him. Everytime he goes to Kenya, he is treated like a King with bodyguards escorting him all over in the country. This is a man who has no escorts at the Hague where he works. He even travels by bicycle when getting around in the Hague while Kenya treats him like a King being driven under police escort. This type of treatment has gone into his head and that is why he now thinks he runs the affairs of Kenya and can decide who should be sacked.

Time has come to show him that he does not deserve such much attention when he visits Kenya in the future.

He is doing wrong to call for the sackings of men whose charges has not been confirmed by the ICC judges.

President Al Bashir’s charges has been confirmed and it is here where Ocampo should use his energy, to convince the leaders of Sudan to arrest and deliver Al Bashir to ICC instead of harrassing Kenya’s  President Kibaki and trying to armtwist him to do as he wants..

The covert war on black America

Posted by African Press International on July 21, 2011

By F. Jones – USA

The US government’s intelligence divisions have developed advances in the studies of behavioral psychology that have given them much more control over its population. It initially used these advancements to develop psychological warfare programs used to manipulate foreign populations, but it was eventually decided that this same method of psychological warfare could be used domestically as a tool to manipulate public opinion.
Today to control and produce uniformity among the masses, the U.S. government disseminates propaganda domestically among its own citizens. The main sources that it uses to spread its propaganda are the Press, the Cinema, Education and the Radio. These four sources abilities to manipulate and control the masses are over-whelming. The great majority of people derive their ideas and perceptions, from these sources.

Most of the things that we believe we do so because we have heard them affirm through these sources; We do not remember how or why they were affirmed, and are therefore unable to be critical even when the affirmation was not backed by any evidence whatsoever. This situation gives those who control the media, the inherent ability to define, manipulate and control targeted groups as they see fit. The U.S. Government has an extensive history of conducting planned campaigns of extensive strategic psychological operations through the national media  to domestically direct the perceptions and climate of the nation towards its governmental objectives. Information given through the media can greatly influence every facet of our lives. When these propaganda programs are directed at particular targeted groups they can be effectively used as psychological manipulation tools.

Through the noted media sources propaganda may be used to adversely manipulate and shapes the minds and collective perceptions of targeted groups. By inundating targeted groups with deliberately  misinformation about themselves these programs can produces, within the targeted group, the sort of character and beliefs that the controllers of the program wants them to believe. Upon their so formed personalities, docility will be imposed on the targeted group. Strategies against their oppressors will be discouraged in these groups of people, and insubordination will be psychologically purged out of them. This system can even make any  serious criticism of the powers that be psychologically impossible. Even if all within the targeted groups are miserable, all will believe themselves at fault for their miseries, because these systems will be used to tell them that they are so.
To domestically defend its position of white dominance that was lessened by civil rights gains made by the unprecedented civil rights strategies of African Americans, the U.S. Government secretly employed this well proven mass manipulation programs against its entire Black population.
Although the U.S. Government publicly professes equality for all of its citizens, it secretly holds an unyielding commitment towards the preservation of its White dominance and control. Given that the nineteen sixties were a period of massive black rebellion that increasingly challenged its position of white dominance, this quite logically necessitated that the U.S. Government employ this same proven method of mass manipulation programs to domestically defend its position of white dominance against its Black population.

The present despairing state of Black America, as depicted through out America ’s national media outlets, is neither a baffling phenomenon, nor the result of some innate racial deficiency among Blacks, but rather instead the result of a governmentally deplored mass manipulation program.
The United States media’s distorted portrayal of Black America that amplifies the negative to the point that it distorts reality is more than just biased media reports. They function as media manipulation/ psychosocial programs. Its unrelenting daily assault on the Black psyche is deliberately designed to adversely manipulate and shape the minds, and collective perceptions of African Americans.
From their established positions of power, prominent white governmental elites monopolizes all given information deliberately disseminating only those that implies their white superiority over its Black population.  Its constant deplorable depiction of African Americans is being done to perpetuate and frames the myth of Whites’ racial, moral, intellectual and ethical superiority. This psychosocial program subjects African Americans to seeing only the fraudulent worst in themselves– while implying that they admire, respect, and trust only Whites. It is designed to break down African Americans’ sense of racial unity and allegiance, mold the character of self-hatred, self-doubt, self-loath, and distrust among their group.

This program conditions Black people to accept white dominance over their lives by misleading them to believe that they are now themselves their own worst enemies. Through totally white controlled media outlets African Americans are  seeing themselves through lenses that have been deliberately assigned to them by white mass media manipulation experts. It is a covert and sophisticated method of control that ensures the continuance of America ’s White racial hierarchy by manipulating and shaping the minds and collective perceptions of its Black population.

This insidious, yet very sophisticated mass manipulation program works by using the science of psychology. It prevails by affecting the unconscious mind through deception. Its weapon is the message that it carries and the way that it adversely affects the targeted recipient group in terms of their behavior. To the detriment of many African Americans this applied psychological conditioning program has been extremely effective. It has engendered within the psyche of many African Americans profound feelings of internalized self contempt that pulverizes Black unity and halts Black upward mobility.  It also totally detaches African  Americans’ from their sense of power and reality.
And while many African Americans have successfully navigated through this psychologically mortifying mine field and have gone on to lead successful, productive lives, for far too many this immense devaluation can seem inescapable and tragically, over time, many begin to accept subconsciously and painfully the negative portrayals of themselves.

Many also become discouraged by the acceptance that their society is also preconditioned to see the worst in them and that, therefore, if they were ever to gain acceptance, if it is to be won at all, that success would be hard won. This in turn manifests negative internalized psychological pain and distress within many African Americans that can take many forms. In fact, this mortifying psychosocial program is so fundamentally detrimental to the Black human condition and psyche that it may even affect the extent to which many African Americans realize their full human potential.
All African Americans have experienced the burden of this system of applied psychological conditioning, some more severely than others have.  This mass manipulation program is at the root of both the profound division and self hatred now afflicting so many Black Americans and is at the heart of internalized feelings of superiority that many whites possess.
WHEN AND HOW THIS BLACK MATRIX WAS IMPLEMENTED

It is surmised that this massive manipulation program was implemented in 1968, in the face of widespread violence that ensued after the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.   Dr. King’s brutal assassination amplified Black angry demonstrations and riots within the United States .  Such incidents were reported in more than 100 cities across the nation immediately following the assassination.  America ’s racially motivated brutality toward African Americans appeared to have reached its boiling point, creating much unrest and discord; and it increasingly challenged the stability of America ’s white statuesque.  These factors led U.S. Government agents to quickly reform their techniques of institutionalized racism.
The noted problems resulted in President Lyndon B Johnson ordering the formation of the Kerner Commission.  Its mission was to investigate and prescribe a cure or recommendations for the problem.  The Commission concluded that blatant White racism was the single aggravating factor for the collective problems. The Kerner report’s findings required that the U.S. Government abandon its open, blatant forms of racist systems used to defend its position of White dominance.  This abandonment of outdated tactics necessitated an implementation of an improved method for ensuring the continuance of white dominance and control.  Clearly its proven method of mass media psychological manipulation through media propaganda meets this need.

This new covert method of maintaining white dominance was a logical progressive choice because it provides America ’s white elites with a more socially acceptable means of ensuring the continuance of its White racial hierarchy. Unlike the blatantly brutal forms of racism used in the past, which Blacks were able to identify easily and therefore unify and form counter strategies, this modern system is more covertly deplored.
Not only does this psychosocial program manipulates the self perceptions of African Americans, it also creates a national climate that is insensitive to their plight —thus fostering a consensual national setting of where in which Blacks are more easily mistreated and suppressed. This psychosocial program meets this additional objective by changing the root problem of racism in America to be due to Black’s behavior rather than White’s proclivity for racism. This deliberately done to create a shift of victimization—in favor of whites– that makes the nation and the entire world insensitive to the plight of African Americans, tranquilizes efforts on their behalf, lessens pressure for social change on their behalf and makes any serious criticism of White racism almost impossible today.
This program also produces false justifications for the legal system’s mistreatment of African Americans. Wherein they are disproportionately incarcerated, given stiffer sentences, and are more likely than other racial groups to be treated brutally, beaten, and fired upon by police officers while they are unarmed. These injustices now goes ignored because the perception has become that it’s all now justified.
When contempt of Blacks is made to appear to be justifiable, it is the most fiercest and effective type of racism because its witnesses, bystanders, and even world audiences will sit by idly allowing African Americans to be brutally mistreated disproportionately incarcerated under the belief that it is justified.] It also affects attitudes that when enacted through governmental policies, laws, and other legislation actions, serve to ensure that African Americans will not advance. Its effects are manifested in ideas, education, governmental policies, economic stratification, social segregation, housing markets, hiring and promotion practices, psychological issues, and minority access to a variety of social services and opportunity.
The objective of the United States government has always been to maintain its White dominance over its Black population, and clearly, this mass media psychological manipulation campaign meets this need—because it covertly manipulates the self perceptions of African Americans and creates a national climate that allows the government to consensually suppress the advancement of its African American population-thus maintaining its White racial dominance and control. In order for those who have been misled to begin to see “correctly”, they must have a clear, analytical understanding of the origin, strategies, mechanics, purpose and methods of the device that has blinded them in the first place. Therefore it is imperative that this email is forwarded –Please do!
