Kenya activists go to court to block PM Raila Odinga from running for the presidency

Posted by African Press International on August 14, 2012

The activists have told the court, according to the Kenya media, that Raila cannot be trusted. They accuse him of lying that he was a lecturer in Nairobi university in the early 90′s.
The group also raises questions on whether Raila completed his education in Germany. They say there is a problem with Raila and integrity.

The worst for the PM is that the group is now asking the court to look into his actions when he called for mass demonstrations that later turned violent causing many deaths during the 2007/2008 post-election violence.

They also accuse Raila of his involvement in the 82′attempted coup.

If the court finds Raila on the wrong side of the law, he will have a battle of all mothers if he wants the trust of the Kenyan people during the coming 2013 elections.

Observers however say the plane was not engaging in an act of war. Many who have followed the dispute between Kenya and Uganda on Migingo ownership were baffled on hearing of the crash.

Now that the Kenyan president has spoken, by way of condolence, it is clear that the entry into Kenyan territory by the soldiers flying the plane was not a sign of aggression and therefore not a provocation..

What is unclear and disturbing however is how an experienced pilot who has been flying for over 17 years could land into such trouble entering uknown territory.
