Kenya’s former protocol officer in foreign affairs ministry arrested on attempting to smugle illegal drugs to Tokyo

Drug smuglers are beginning to use all means to traffic illegal drugs and enrich themselves quick. When a person uses diplomatic bag to smugle drugs to any destination from Nairobi worth over 4 millon Ksh puts all diplomats in bad light.
When one exports or imports using a diplomatic bag, no one inspects such a luggage. These arrests in Kenya raises a lot of questions than answers.
The fact that one of the culprits was a former protocal officer in the ministry of foreign affairs raises questions that must now be answered.
It is possible that the officer who now works in the justice ministry has been doing the smugling for many years without being detected when he worked in the foreign affairs.
This man had the privilege to travel out of the country visiting embassies. This must have given him the opportunity to smugle.
As punishment, jailing him will not be enough. His asserts must be confiscated if found to exceed what he could afford with his salary as a civil servant.
